This specialized part was originally developed for endurance racing (Suzuka 8 Hours, etc), where racing rear sets and non-standard shifter setups can put extra stress on the spindle. Precision CNC-machined from high strength billet aluminum with a Gold anodized finish and a Teflon inner bushing.
